  • The architects presented ideas about what should or should not be inside the new Walnut Creek Branch Library.  Attendees looked at photos representing the libraries of today to find out what they thought and were able to comment. This information will be used to create the new library.

The Garland Libraries are open.  Library staff will continue to wear masks and we encourage everyone else to wear one too. We also ask that you wash your hands and make use of our many hand sanitizer stations throughout the Garland Libraries. Please visit our Holiday Closures page for our holiday schedule.

Central Library (625 Austin Street):
Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday 2 to 6 p.m.

South Garland Branch (4845 Broadway Blvd.):
Tuesday & Thursday 12 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday & Monday closed

North Garland Branch (3845 N. Garland Ave.):
Tuesday & Thursday 12 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday & Monday closed

Walnut Creek Branch (3319 Edgewood Dr.):
Tuesday & Thursday 12 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday & Monday closed

All libraries have seating plus tables and chairs.  Everything is spaced 6 feet apart and arranged for one user at a time.  Some furniture has been removed at each location to accommodate the distancing requirements.  Study rooms are not available.

  • Curbside pickup and the book drops are available (click on the CHECKOUTS/HOLDS tab for details). 
  • Please use the library’s ONLINE RESOURCES.  
  • If you need a library card click on Online Registration.
  • Please email LIB-SUPPORT with any questions or concerns you may have.

Garland Library book drops are available 24/7.

  • All returned items will be quarantined for 5 days before being checked in.
  • We are not charging fines and will forgive any fines accrued as a result of our quarantine.  If the quarantine has affected your account or your ability to place holds please contact us at 972-205-2500 or email Lib-support.
