635 East - Ways to Stay Connected Graphic_360x250

UPDATE: The 635 East Project team has canceled a planned shutdown of Interstate 635 at Skillman Street from 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, to 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.

As part of the $1.7 billion 635 East project to widen and improve Interstate 635 and areas near the Interstate 30 interchange, rolling full closures of I-635 between Plano Road and Kingsley Road are planned from 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, to 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

Various lanes along both directions of I-635 in Garland and along I-30 near the interchange are closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, Dec. 6.

All lanes of Kingsley Road are closed at I-635 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 1, to the morning of Sunday, Dec. 5.

Various lanes of Ferguson Road are closed at I-635 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 5.

The exit from southbound I-635 to La Prada Drive is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, Dec. 6.

The exit from northbound I-635 to Oates Drive will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, to 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, and from 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4.

The exit from eastbound Interstate 635 to Northwest Highway is closed to facilitate bridge and ramp construction. The shutdown is expected to last two or three years.

At the interchange of I-635 and I-30, the connector ramp from northbound I635 to eastbound I-30 is closed from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. through the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 1. The connector ramp from eastbound I-30 to northbound I-635 is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, Dec. 6. The connector ramp from southbound I-635 to eastbound I-30 will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Also impacting Garland traffic, the Texas Department of Transportation has closed lanes on the Interstate 30 bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard between Bass Pro Drive in Garland and Dalrock Road in Rowlett. Daily eastbound one-lane closures can be expected from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Two lanes are closed, as needed, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Westbound I-30 closures are also planned. The work is expected to continue through mid-December, providing room for crews to start expanding the bridge and eventually connecting it to a new frontage road bridge under construction. The frontage road bridges and rebuild of the Dalrock/I-30 interchange is a $142 million project.

The HOV/Express managed toll lanes on I-635 between Oates Drive and TI Boulevard also remain closed until the 635 East project is completed. The rebuilt tolled managed lanes will have shoulders and be separated from the main lanes by concrete barriers.

Text “635 East” to 833-499-6353 to sign up to receive alerts on closures. All construction is subject to weather conditions. More information about the project can be found at 635east.com.
