Garland Partners with Trusted World

Trusted World Mayor 360x250

The City of Garland and Trusted World Foundation have entered a partnership that will enable the growing resource provider to build a new headquarters and expand its operations in Garland.

Trusted World will lease City-owned land on the east side of Centerville Road, just south of State Highway 66. Construction of Trusted World's new offices and fulfillment center is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

The facility will enable the Garland-based organization to continue its mission of providing resources at no cost to people or organizations who are providing services on someone else's behalf. Trusted World focuses on creating an efficient and effective donation fulfillment process so that those facing situational poverty may receive resources quickly.

Trusted World, which started in a garage in 2014, now works with 787 partners and in 2022 provided $2.4 million worth of resources, helping more than 28,000 people. Its partners include 430 schools, more than 25 law enforcement agencies and hundreds of nonprofits including organizations like the United Way, Red Cross, Catholic Charities and The Bridge. The organization relies on volunteers to help process clothing and food for its partners and clients.

The agreement was finalized by City Council vote on Tuesday, May 2. The partners celebrated again Thursday, May 4, by announcing the venture at Trusted World's annual awards breakfast. By proclamation from Mayor Scott LeMay, May 4 was Trusted World Recognition and Appreciation Day in Garland.

“After seeing the level of efficiency in the current smaller facility, I can only imagine how it will grow into helping so many more,” said LeMay. “The thought of losing that kind of asset was unacceptable to us. So we started the process of trying to find a building, trying to find some land, trying to make this work in our community.”
